Blisworth Community Primary School - Part of your child's memories.
Today is the last day of a run of celebratory days to make January seem brighter. Today was the ultimate day of brightness - thank you, Friends of Blisworth School - today has been brilliant! School was buzzing with happiness - sparkles, face paints, fruit, vegetables, footballers, Harry Potter, witches, coloured hair - the list goes on! The children looked fabulous and of course, Mr Haddon did not disappoint and sported a brilliant lobster outfit for us. It has made such a difference to look forward to each Friday this month and genuine thanks are extended to you all at home for supporting your child and our school for these days. we know it adds things to remember, but it has hopefully also meant your children were excited to get dressed for school! Next week's January event is Family Bingo held next Friday in the school hall.
In learning the children have done so well, completing great pieces of writing. We have also had numerous district and county wins this month. January has been great!
Have a lovely weekend everyone and thank you again for brightening up our month wit your children's outfits!

Today's post is to share some exciting external achievements of some of our pupils. Our school community is very proud to see all the vibrance and skills that all our children flourish in and we know that today, you will enjoy learning of these children's achievements.
Evie and Abigail love a range of activities but today we celebrate their exceptional achievement in dance at national level with their dance school, Unit 17. They progressed through three rounds before this one to get to the 'Born to Perform' finals in Gloucester.
They did three dances, and came 4th in Lyrical, 3rd in street dance, and came 1st in their Modern Jazz performance and are National Champions 2026 for Juniors Modern Jazz.
Whilst playing football, Georgie was seen by a scout and invited to attend a trial. We are thrilled to announce that he was very successful in his trial and is now a player in the Kettering FC Academy.
Charlie, as you know, loves the perform and each year performs on stage in pantomimes. She has now successfully secured the role of Jemima Pops in Chitty Chitty Bang Bang! What a big achievement
What great achievements, children!

Well done to our archery team who showcased their skills today. The event was to display the range of skills required for effective archery and Mr Elliott and Coach Lewis said that they were thrilled with the team's standard today. Even more notably, their wonderful teamwork and encouragement to each other was a credit to them. Well done, children! ... See MoreSee Less

My Friday post is dedicated to some more brilliant sports news! Hot off the press - our Year 3/4 sports hall athletics team is in the county finals!!! Mr Elliott and Coach Lewis from Rhino Sports Academy said that the children's performance was stunning - how they worked as a team and the skills that they showed. Thank you both for your excellent support and training to the children. We knew yesterday that they gained 2nd place of 16 schools in the afternoon event, but this afternoon found out that they came 3rd out of 32 schools in the district and have qualified for the finals. (There are less photos than normal because it appears the children were so very fast that some pictures blurred!).
In other news, another week of a cold January closes but our children's spirits are high and we have been very proud of them. Highlights for me have been seeing the writing Reception children are producing, the excellent phonics skills of our Year 1 pupils and in Year 2, some beautiful Rainbow Bear inspired writing. Year 3 have shown brilliant technology skills and teamwork, whilst I have spotted Year 4 solving some tricky problems on the board each day. Year 5 children continue to brighten my morning with the most dazzling welcome everyday (do ask your child what they say!) and Year 6 have produced some 'Up' inspired writing as well as learning about trade across history.
Children we are very proud of you all... and what better way to start the weekend than finding out the team are through to the county finals!
